Summary:
The CAC is largely supportive of the Ontario Ministry of Finance’s effort to modernize securities legislative and rules in Ontario, however, there are a few areas including a wider definition of diversity and expanded legislation on best interest standard, that if
included as part of the CMA would further support Ontario investors. The CAC will look for additional opportunities to engage with the Ministry to continue to advance investor protection, market integrity and market transparency.
